Patio chairs

Instead of looking for cushions that are perfect for their patio chairs, some people have take the matter into their own hands and simply created the perfect cushion by making their own. For someone to make her own cushions for patio chairs, she should:

• Measure the chair – Only the actual seat of the chair usually needs to be measured. If one wants a cushion that also covers the back of the chair, it may be easier to make two separate cushions that can be tied in place. There should not be a lot of overhang in the measurement because cushions that hang over the sides are more prone to sag and not stay in place.

• Decide on thickness – The thickness of the cushion is important. For some people, a cushion that is thinner is better because of back problems. However, most people enjoy sitting on thick cushions that have a lot of padding in them. Foam is a substance often used that gives a lot of support and is comfortable.

• Buy foam – If foam is chosen, it should be purchased in cuts of the proper size. Foam is fairly easy to cut, so one can do this himself or herself.

• Sew – Sew a pocket in which the foam cushions can be placed. The fabric chosen should be exactly what the owner wants it to be. The pocket should be the same size as what was measured from the chair earlier.

• Water-proof – It is important to water-proof this material. Because these kinds of chairs spend a lot of time outdoors, the chairs are prone to see wind, rain, hail and snow. Weatherproofing the patio chairs can make them hold up for a longer time.

A number of features can be purchased with a patio table.
